There are a number of terrific additions to this next generation version of Grand Theft Auto V. You may know that there are things like greater draw distances, more traffic, and other expected goodies. Here is a breakdown of what really matters. These things are value added and should help you decide whether or not to upgrade to a PS4, PC, or Xbox One version.

• New weapons – You can enjoy a new way to blow things up real good. The rail gun is going to blow up pesky things in the game real good. If you like chopping, you will be happy with the hatchet. I don’t need to explain usages of a hatchet do I?
• First person mode – This can be activated simply and quickly whenever you desire. This can give you amazing new perspective when driving vehicles for example.
• GTA Online – You will be able to have 30 players in online games. This is a great addition if you think about long lasting appeal. This game will continue to thrive online for a long time to come. Having larger amounts of players will enhance the experience in a big way.
• New Missions – Even if you’ve played GTA V on PS3 and Xbox 360, you will find more missions for each of the characters in this next gen version of the game.
• Stock Car Races – If you liked the racing and driving aspect of GTA 5, here is some more to enjoy. These stock car races allow you to unlock new muscle cars in the game.
• Double the props in the creator tool
• New customization options in the character creator
• More animals
• Xero Blimp – more mobile, more fun, enjoy the eye candy of your surroundings
• More songs – Rockstar have added more than 160 new tracks!

Brady’s global strategy guide publisher Mike Degler has announced that they have secured the rights to the GTA 5 cheat strategy guide book. Brady has become a staple for video game guides and with GTA 5 secured, they are expecting to be the #1 publisher on the planet. High hopes for this GTA V strategy guide for sure. There is always plenty of tricks, cheats, glitches and gameplay elements to write about. It’s going to be a thick guide book for sure! The article mentions that a popular strategy guide can sell up to 300,000 copies. Expect the Brady Games GTA 5 guide to shatter the records. You might be aware Prima Game Guides is the biggest competitor to Brady Games. This deal pretty much puts Brady Games in a good position coming into late 2012 and 2013 depending on when GTA 5 is released.

We’ve been waiting on pins and needles for more GTA V news and today Rockstar delivered. Okay, nothing exactly earth shattering, but they do confirm that indeed, GTA 5 is based in San Andreas and will be located in Los Santos, surrounding hills, beaches and country side. We can’t say the scale of GTA V just yet, but Rockstar did say it’s the most “ambitious” game that Rockstar has ever created. Wow, that means something. It appears that there is going to be loads and loads of replay value in this game. The also confirmed multiplayer and mission based gameplay. We also gather that GTA V is going to focus on the “pursuit of the almighty dollar”, according to the Rockstar press release today.

We didn’t launch GrandTheftAutoForever.com for nothing. Few video games deserve to be mentioned with “forever”. Grand Theft Auto is one of the most played, most enjoyed and most ground breaking video game series in the history of gaming. Now that we are looking at GTA 5, it’s interesting to think about how many millions of copies might be sold.

We can honestly say right off the bat, that the next best selling video game franchise is Call of Duty. We think GTA is right beside Call of Duty and that GTA V will simply smash whatever records that COD once enjoyed. Face it. The demand for the new GTA game will reach a fever pitch. The big difference is that Grand Theft Auto doesn’t come out yearly like Call of Duty. The less of something, the more you want it. Video games are no exception.

There was a fantastic article recently on CNBC that broke down the GTA sales numbers. Let’s take a closer look at how many copies of GTA 5 that might be sold.

Experts feel that GTA 5 could sell up to 25 million copies in the first year. A bit interesting in the fact that it may be released in the fall 2012. Will it make 25 million in just 3 months? No, not in a calender year. The 25 million refers to a year of sales and not calender year.

As a comparison, GTA 4 sold 17 million copies in its first year. When you consider that fact along with the fact that there are many more systems in homes now, the number for a GTA 5 could be considerably higher. It’s certainly realistic to think the number will go much higher and certainly not lower.

In the CNBC article, they mention the fact that back in 2008, the first week of the GTA 4 release, the game made $500 million which was a record for video games. Since then, Call of Duty has set the bar with new record sales.  The fact is, 25 million copies of GTA 5 being sold in the first year would bring in about $1.5 billion dollars. That massive. That’s big business. That would be one heck of a game.

We have been reading a lot of comments about the GTA 5 trailer and rumors. It would seem there is still some debate out there regarding where GTA V will be based. Perhaps this will help clarify the Grand Theft Auto 5 city.

See the screenshot? That is a photo from the official GTA 5 trailer and is a license plate from a police car. Now look closely. Sure it’s fuzzy. Sure it’s not an HD screenshot. With that said, it somewhat clearly shows “SAN ANDREAS” above the license plate numbers.

We realize this isn’t a ground breaking story at this point, but every added detail helps. The trailer is either trying to fool all of us or it’s based in the city of San Andreas. As mentioned before, the city will be expanded and will include much better detail. Makes sense. We hope that GTA 5 will blow the doors off of GTA 4. We are darn sure it will!

I was juiced to finally see some new GTA action. I’m sure that every Grand Theft Auto fan on the planet was in on it whether you were on your home PC, a laptop or on a mobile phone. This was a highly anticipated trailer to say the least.

I was impressed with the graphics for sure. Not enough information for my liking, but if you consider it like a teaser trailer for a movie, I guess it delivered. I don’t want to sound overly picky about it. It’s just great news to FINALLY have the ball rolling on some interesting GTA 5 discussion and news.

I’m now going through the GTA V trailer to see what nuggets I can pick out. Perhaps there are a few clues in there about the release date. It’s possible. Afterall, Rockstar has been known to be sneaky in this regard. Surely there is something in this video that will tease us even more.

My next request? How about the release date?
