Learn about the 3 characters! Brand new trailers to enjoy!
Trailer #2 delayed because of hurricane Sandy
The plan by Rockstar was/is to give the world a brand new GTA V trailer before the pre order phase starts on November 5. Well according to Rockstar they are dealing with power outages in New York which has in fact delayed this latest trailer. We hope that they get this up over the weekend. The fact is news could break any minute about this new video. We can’t wait and I’m sure you can’t wait. Stay tuned!
GTA V multiplayer and impressive DLC confirmed
We told you the hype would start and would proceed like a freight train! How about this nugget from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. Here is what he says:
“I think you can safely assume that Rockstar, as the label that led the charge in downloadable content with Grand Theft Auto 4, I think you’d have every reason to believe, purely because of the ground-breaking nature of the title itself and the multiplayer in the title, that there’s going to be a lot of interesting stuff. But I’ll leave that to Rockstar to announce.”
So there is going to be multiplayer in GTA V. No big surprise there I suppose, but big things could come of that. Aren’t we all a bit tired of the FPS online games? Wouldn’t a GTA style multiplayer game be a nice change? I say yes! Both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network are fantastic platforms for online multiplayer. What would be even better? How about mobile versions of GTA V with online multiplayer? That would be amazing!
More details and leaks are coming soon I’m sure!

New details on GTA V released along with a release date
Well our frustration has subsided. Finally, and we do mean finally, there is an official GTA V release date. It’s coming Spring 2013 and there is a pre order starting November 5th. I’m confused about the pre order announcement because for over a year Amazon had a pre order page up. Seems a tad bizarre to me, but who cares. The game is coming and it’s not a dream that I’m having.
So with the announcement today, Rockstar gave a couple new details. Confirmed is that the city is Southern California. It’s the most “thriving” game they have ever created. It’s set in Los Santos. Rockstar goes on to say that the games landscape covers the tops of mountains to the depths of the ocean. I personally am intrigued by having ocean gameplay elements.
Rockstar is promising that starting November, things should get rolling. In other words lots of news to come! Yay!
Rockstar launches official GTA V Facebook page
Finally some movement! Without question, the marketing onslaught for GTA V is coming in November. Rockstar has said that the magazine Game Informer will feature a GTA 5 cover and will hit newstands in November. Now we see that Rockstar has an official Facebook page for GTA V here.
Sick of waiting for the GTA V release date? I am.
The latest news is essentially no news. The chairman and CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick was kind enough to say that GTA V is in “full development” and Rockstar is “making substantial progress”. Yeah whatever.
Okay, the deal is this. It’s horrible timing right now. It’s not going to be surprising to hear about PS4 and the next Xbox being released in fall 2013. If not then, be assured that gamers will be expecting those next gen consoles the following year. News will start to stream out regardless if those new systems are in 2013 or 2014. In the past, it’s been a fact that games released in the twilight of a system’s life suck. It’s horrible. Think about it. GTA V coming out in 2013? How much time does that leave for additional content and releases? People are going to be watching the next generation console news and saving their pennies.
Sure, GTA V might make some late waves but is it really acceptable to have a game such as this come out when there is such a short amount of time left in the console lifespan? I don’t think so. How many years have we been stuck with GTA 4?
On the flip side people are rambling about the possibility of GTA V being a release title for the new consoles. There is another bad idea. I don’t think there have been a lot of great games that came out as launch titles. Go back to Nintendo 64 and maybe you have something. If the new consoles are in fact coming Fall 2013 then a GTA 5 release in 2013 isn’t happening. At least not for the current gen systems. Thinking further, would Microsoft be releasing Halo 4 for a console that has one year left in its life? I doubt it.
If there are issues and problems in the development for GTA V, then timing is going to reek havoc. A massive game like this need time to explore and enjoy. That enjoyment will be stunted if they push it to 2013. It would be bizarre now to see it come out in 2012 but if they miss it, then I’m really upset. Then what? Spring 2013? Wow. I mean seriously. Do they have a crisis happening behind the scenes on this? It may be so. Think of how nuts it was for them to start pre order like six months ago. Their point was what? Bizarre.
Yes, the whole thing for me is turning bizarre. I’m sick of this waiting game.
Juicy new GTA V screenshots – Release date coming soon?
Brady Games secures GTA 5 cheat guide book rights
Brady’s global strategy guide publisher Mike Degler has announced that they have secured the rights to the GTA 5 cheat strategy guide book. Brady has become a staple for video game guides and with GTA 5 secured, they are expecting to be the #1 publisher on the planet. High hopes for this GTA V strategy guide for sure. There is always plenty of tricks, cheats, glitches and gameplay elements to write about. It’s going to be a thick guide book for sure! The article mentions that a popular strategy guide can sell up to 300,000 copies. Expect the Brady Games GTA 5 guide to shatter the records. You might be aware Prima Game Guides is the biggest competitor to Brady Games. This deal pretty much puts Brady Games in a good position coming into late 2012 and 2013 depending on when GTA 5 is released.
GTA V Protagonist rumors persist. Is this the guy?
There is some pretty overwhelming evidence about this person feature in the GTA V screenshot and the man on the left side. Is this the same person? Is this the main character? All evidence says yes! Of course aside from the release date, most GTA fans want to know the protag aka protagonist. This fellow is apparently the man behind the voice in the game. However, here is the big question, how many protagonists are there going to be? I’m putting my money on being able to control 2 or 3 different protagonists. Therefore, the man here and in the trailer may simply be one of the protagonists. If Rockstar is indeed pushing the GTA series to new limits then having just one protagonist makes no sense. In the official GTA V trailer I can see 3 characters who make multiple appearances. In that sense, Rockstar may have given us a look at who we will be controlling in the game.
I recommend you read the story at the official Playstation magazing website. They have tweets from people that pretty much confirm that man in the trailer. It still doesn’t reveal what role this character has in the game, other than it’s his voice.
