Recent News and Developments: We've just learned just how much space you will need available on your Xbox 360 to install GTA V. Ready? You're going to need 8GB free on your hard drive. The game will come on 2 discs. So disc 1 will need to be inserted at startup and it will then install the files onto the Xbox. Then disc 2 will be used to play the game. No worries, you won't have to be switching back and forth between discs. Once installed, you just need the disc 2 inserted. Period. (details on CNET) It's the Xbox One and does that means the title will appear on this newly announced Xbox One? We have now learned that there are NO PLANS for a Xbox One version at this time. Is Rockstar being coy? Doubtful. It sounds like a big game to produce and it's been a long while in development. I just can't see how they would invest even more money into it. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Just keep your Xbox 360 around for this game because it's going to be worth it! What we do know is that the new Xbox One uses a similar programming achitechure as PC games. Although Rockstar hasn't announced it officially, there were reports of a PC version of GTA V being worked on. It does make me wonder if an Xbox One version wouldn't be that different from a PC version. The PS4 also runs the same programming achitechure as the Xbox One, so they both have the same chance on this. I've gone back and forth on this issue. Will these next generation consoles see Grand Theft Auto 5? If it's not a major investment, then perhaps. If Rockstar has been putting the PC verstion together already, then perhaps it's not such a stretch for them to include the Xbox One and Playstation 4. I certainly don't expect Rockstar to leak any news of that because they are trying to get as many pre orders as possible for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. They don't want to stir up an confuse the consumers out there. Well, the delays for GTA 5 are well documented. When Rockstar recently pushed the release date to Fall 2013? That caused me some real confusion. How so? How about the fact that the next generation Xbox (possibly named the Xbox 720) is coming out in Fall 2013. It might be interesting to see how or if Rockstar chooses to implement multiplayer and take advantage of the Xbox Live network. Online gaming has grown substantially since the release of GTA 4 so hopefully Grand Theft Auto V will maximize the competitive aspects on online gameplay. What do we know now about GTA 5 so far? Well if you're a fan of Red Dead Redemption then you should be happy with some similar gameplay features. Since you will be travelling throughout Los Santos and across vast areas, there are plenty of opportunities for interesting encounters. So if you're moving about the city, there will be opportunities for you to get involved in a random encounter which leads to an interesting game experience of some sort. Examples of this could include you passing a broken down car or a hitchhiker. Those are two situations that if you choose to pursue, the game will create a side story or adventure. In this way, there is a massive amount of situations built into the game to explore. Layers upon layers of gameplay. Rockstar has really started to evolve this gameplay and ultimately are the masters of free roaming worlds where things can happen as you pick which path to follow. Want to ignore situations? That's fine. However nothing ventured, nothing gained sounds very evident in Grand Theft Auto 5 from what we are hearing from early previews. What about GTA V Multiplayer on Xbox Live? The early reports are that Rockstar isn't showing off that aspect of the game yet. Does that mean it's not ready? Perhaps. From early indications, players will be able to enter multiplayer through single player. The details are sketchy so far but be assured that Xbox Live will be part of this game. Just recently rumors are swirling that the new Xbox console will be announced in May 2013 and will be released in late 2013. Yes, imagine a new GTA game being release for the old system right as the new console is available to buy. This makes no sense at all. What's at play is Rockstar having to wait for the official Microsoft announcement, at which time Rockstar can finally announce GTA V as being a launch title for the Xbox 720 (or whatever they name it) and for the new PS 4 console. We should know ultimately what is happening by May this year. It would be shocking to say the least if GTA V comes out as an Xbox 360 game right as the Xbox 720 is available to buy. That might turn out to be the worst business plan the video game industry has ever seen. Would you be using your Xbox 360 just to play GTA 5 even when you own the latest and greatest Xbox 720? It's hard to say at what point in development that Rockstar was faced with the possibility of releasing Grand Theft Auto V right at the time when the next generation gaming consoles are coming to market. I am expecting this to be a story in the near future.
What GTA 5 content will we provide right now? Not much. When the time comes you will be able to find community driven GTA V Xbox cheats here.
