Rolling Stone magazine has a nice interview with Ivan Pavlovich who is Rockstar’s soundtrack supervisor. A staple of the Grand Theft Auto series is in the music and the soundtracks. The next game in the series looks to maintain the same high standard as the games that came before it. Here are some of the highlights from the interview:

SonyUK tweets GTA 5 on PS4 – Says later that it was a typo

Well this was bound to happen. Tweets with butterfingers are never a good thing. Imagine how Rockstar felt earlier today when the gaming world was posting about a SonyUK tweet that said “GTA V is going to be amazing, especially on the PS4!”. On the surface, saying typo is the best way to dispell this. Problem is? I suppose the “especially” comment is a bit strange, given that the excuse is that it was a typo. Would “especially on the PS3!” make sense? Not to me. This tweet could have been dismissed as being somebody not knowing the correct information, but given the context, I put this as a foot in the mouth situation. I read that tweet as suggesting the PS4 version is going to be even more impressive than the PS3 version. That’s my take of course. What’s yours?

Next Big Date: August 29 – New Official Video

It’s incredible to think just how close we are to the release of GTA 5. Rockstar has just announced today that on Thursday August 29th, they will release the official trailer. What were the other videos if not “official”? Who knows, who cares. The fact is there is a new trailer coming and with that comes new juicy details. I would expect a flood, and I mean flood of new marketing releases from Rockstar. Weeks away means the hype train really needs to hit full throttle. See the Rockstar post here.

A Czech magazine has produced a few new details about GTA Online. Some are new, some are not so new.

Character menu while playing enabling little customization (masks, etc.)
You can own just one property at a time, you can move to better one once you have enough money
You can customize your home with expensive wood, fancy accessories, big TV’s and more
You can install tracking device to your car (in case someone steals it you can track it down)
Convertible car rooftops are still in
Quick races: just mark the finish line on the map and race
Very good handling of the car (real racing feel)
Lap racing, Classic GTA race (with guns), ralley racing and more
You can improve your gun skills, stamina and such
Hundreds of mission (you can replay them)
Each mission has table of results (similiar to TBoGT)
Can hire coordinator, spies, drivers and more

Rockstar can mark another achievement. GTA 5 has gone gold according to the company:

With hype, comes excitement, comes leaks. If you are somebody who fears leaks, it’s best to keep off the internet regarding GTA 5 news. It’s expected that the recent downloadable PSN copy of the game is on its way for being hacked. This is one of the sad realities of digital anything.
